Welcome to our district website, your link to a multitude of information about Gering Public Schools! Please peruse our site at your convenience and let us know what you think.

Our Board of Education established goals focused on curriculum, communication and facilities. We will present extensive information throughout the year on each goal. You should know that:
·         We are determined to provide an aligned Preschool through 12th grade curriculum allowing our students an opportunity to develop skills to be successful beyond high school. Our comprehensive assessment system ascertains student performance data, motivating us to make necessary adjustments to our curriculum.
·         We are committed to developing and maintaining excellent reciprocal communication among our staff, parents, students and community. Please contact our office with any questions or concerns you may have. Our phone number is 308-436-3125. Our office is located at 1800 8th Street. My email address is dhague@geringschools.net.
·         We remain steadfast in our goal to provide the finest educational facilities for all of our students. We ambitiously repair and maintain our facilities with district funds. On November 2, 2010 our constituents overwhelmingly passed a bond issue to replace the Lincoln Elementary School Building.  Constructions has begun with completion slated for July 1, 2012.  Our goal is to begin the 2012-2013 school year in the new facility.  Specific information is available on this project on our web site.  In addition, air conditioning has been installed in all of our facilities including the three existing elementary buildings: Northfield, Geil and Cedar Canyon.
Even though we have very limited resources, we have been able to maintain quality facilities to support our educational programs.

Thank you for your continued support in our endeavors. Parents, staff, community members and students working together will allow us to accomplish our district mission. We are proud of our accomplishments and look forward to an educationally successful school year!

It has been my privilege to serve as Superintendent of Gering Public Schools for the past ten years. I am looking forward to my eleventh year with as much excitement as my first year.
